METAMURMURATION

Uilllinn: West Cork Arts Centre, 3 March-10 April 2018

The earth rotates on its axis at 1600km per hour and revolves around the Sun at a speed of about 30 km per second. All the time, our atoms vibrate, our blood flows, there is growth and transience. Yet when we are still, we do not feel this motion. Metamurmuration is a monumental, site-responsive spatial drawing reflecting on ideas of time, repetition and motion. Composed of approximately 100,000 particles of suspended felt, over two hundred people during a 2 and a half year period participated in its making.
